Similar to braces, clear aligners use a gradual force to control tooth movement, but without the use of metal wires and brackets.

The aligners are produced using a medical grade plastic material and are fabricated to fit each individual’s mouth. If a series of aligners are required, each aligner moves the teeth in increments until the desired movement is achieved.

The number of aligners & length of treatment is dependent on the severity of the case.

However, it has been proven that due to the spring coil action, aligners offer a much shorter treatment than traditional braces.

Aligners must be worn for at least 18 – 20 hours per day, in order to see improvements.

When can clear aligners be used as a treatment option?

Clear aligners can be used to rectify the middle 6, top & bottom teeth and are therefore applicable in rectifying:

  • Overcrowding
  • Cross bites
  • Protrusion
  • Teeth that have re-lapsed post previous correctional treatment.

While night guards are not a new innovation in dentistry, it is becoming apparent that comfort is one of the main contributing factors in patients choosing custom made nightguards as opposed to generic nightguards.

Currently we are able to offer a custom fit, hard, flat plane night guard produced using an FDA approved long term biocompatible material.

Short term plans: Custom splints with teeth curvature

We can currently print custom splints that fit the teeth curvatures, however it is at a higher cost. We will confirm an expected date for which we will print these custom splints at a market related cost.

Hard Flat Plane Night Guards Workflow:

The workflow is similar to that of clear aligners, with the exception of the thermoforming stage. Night guards are printed directly using a special class 2 biocompatible dental resin.
